Heath Ledger, In 1999, Touchstone Pictures released a modern re-telling of Taming With The Shrew starring two relative unknowns, Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. In 10 Things I Hate About You, Ledger played Patrick Verona, a brooding rebel with an Australian accent and romantic interest to Stiless Katarina “Kat” Stratford. Stiless character was also a rebel, who found in Riot Grrl music and Sylvia Plath novels, at least until she met Patrick. The two characters played unsuspecting romantic pawns in Kats younger sisters ploy to date and find love, until it was Patrick and Kat that found each other. By the end of the romantic comedy, after all the romance and love loss, Kat was tasked with rewriting Shakespeares Sonnet 141. Having finally understood heartbreak, Kat lashed out through rhyme.
